DAY 03 - RAJASTHAN


RAJPUTON KI DHARTI - RAJASTHAN
It is India's  largest state with 342000 km sq area.
It is a landlocked state & shares its border with Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat & Pakistan.
25 Lok Sabha, 10 Rajya Sabha & 200 Assembly seats are alloted to this state.

On its West - India's one & only Hot Desert - THAR DESERT 
Prominent Mountain Range- Aravalli Range is example of Residual Mountain. It covers about 670 km of area from Gujarat to Delhi.

41 Rivers are there, though prominent ones are - Banganga, Chambal, Parbati, Kali Sindh, Mahi, Sabarmati, Banas, Luni.

Chambal River Valley Project, on Chambal River 3 dams & 1 barrage is located; Of which 2 are in Rajasthan   1)RANA PRATAP SAGAR DAM in Rawatbhata
                   2)JAWAHAR SAGAR DAM in Kota

India's largest inland saline lake - Sambhar Lake , which is also a Ramsar Wetland ; it produces about 10% salt used in India.

                                        Bal Samand lake
                                        Fateh Sagar lake
                                        Lake Pichola  

National parks - 1) Keoladeo National Park (Bharatpur)
                           2) Ranthambhore National Park (Sawai Madhopur)
                           3) Mukundra National Park (Kota & Chittorgarh)
